faces, cultures, races, colours, types..
our fellow singaporeans.
its quite sad, really, that some of us choose to be so typical, or rather, don't realise it.
i was helping out at my uncle's pub for lunch when...
customer: can i have water please
me: ok
customer: must pay or not harr??
me: no
customer: oh, ok then can help me get 4 glasses of water for everyone at the table
me: (says) ok... (thinks) wtf...
a couple of days ago, a man of about 75 yrs of age had lunch over at the pub. he was stopping over from england and on his way to see his son and grandchildren over in aussie. a face i won't forget. frail yet adventurous. he chose to spend the last few hours in singapore with us, and as he sipped his tea with care, he told us about how he'll be spending 2 months in aussie with his family, and how excited he was to meet his grandchildren since they should be all grown up by now.
before my uncle walked him back to the hotel, he came up to me and held my hand, and told me to take care. he had the softest hands ever. he made my day. he had a beautiful presence.
